Bison at Sunset in the Lamar Valley, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming IMG_5194.jpg
Millions of bison once roamed the plains before they were hunted to near extinction in the 1800’s. Today, Yellowstone is the only place in the lower 48 where bison have been continuously free-ranging for thousands of years. Even as the largest land mammal in North America, they can run at speeds in excess of 30 mph!
